Goddess of Mercy and Compassion
Quan Yin or Kwan Yin is one of the most loved dieties of Buddhist tradition. She is often depicted riding a Dragon or shown pouring a stream of healing water from a small vase. With this water all living things are blessed with physical and spiritual peace. The dragon is an ancient symbol for high spirituality, wisdom, strength, and divine powers of transformation.
She is known as a Virgin Goddess and she holds her hands for the Yoni Mudra which symbolises the womb as the door for entry to this world through the universal female principle. There are numerous miracles attributed to her and she is asked to protect women and grants children to those who desire them.
Kwan Yin is a very gentle being who pushes each of us to become more compassionate and loving with ourselves. She holds a position on the Karmic Board.
With her beauty, grace and compassion Kwan Yin has come represent the ideal of womanhood in the East and is known as the protector of women, sailors, merchants, craftsmen and as a divine mother figure.
